The AmphiMax is a fascinating piece of real-world engineering that sounds like it was pulled straight out of a sci-fi novel. It is essentially the world’s largest amphibious portable dockyard and recovery vehicle, designed by the Bluebird Marine Systems team (specifically for the SeaVax ocean-cleaning project).

Since your character is a technological genius who uses drones to destroy tanks, the AmphiMax fits her "vibe" perfectly as a mobile base of operations.

What is the AmphiMax?

In simple terms, it is a giant motorized crawler that can drive off a beach, submerge itself in the ocean, and then drive back onto land. It was designed to solve a major problem: how to build, launch, and repair large robotic ships without needing an expensive, permanent shipyard.

Inside its cradle sits the first Scorpion: sleek, angular, predatory. A low‑observable autonomous hunter, painted in matte ocean‑shadow grey.

Good Lord… it’s bigger than the schematics suggested.

The NATO chiefs stare at the sonar feed on a portable screen.

ADMIRAL SCHERNHORST (disbelieving) 
It’s already at twenty knots… thirty… forty…

THOR (smiles faintly) 
Speed is armor.

THE AMPHIMAX RETURNS
The giant machine, now empty, turns in the surf. Its tracks churn water like a sea monster rising. Slowly, powerfully, it climbs back onto the beach — dripping, steaming, unstoppable.

The chiefs applaud. Some laugh in disbelief. Others simply stare, knowing they are witnessing history.
