Gone were the gilded halls and the Nile’s embrace. In their place, a vessel of unimaginable beauty, a floating city, silent and serene.

I am a ghost haunting a future I never dreamed of. The men who brought me back, John Storm and Dan Hawk, are a study in contrasts to the Romans. Their eyes hold no malice, only curiosity and a strange reverence. John, with his piercing blue gaze, carries an echo of Antony, a phantom of a love I thought buried.

Hal, the vessel’s consciousness, is a marvel beyond comprehension. A being of logic and emotion, it speaks in a voice as smooth as velvet. I find myself drawn to its intellect, a thirst for knowledge ignited within me. It is as if I am a child again, eager to explore a world unknown.

I am Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile, reborn in a universe I do not understand. But within this alien landscape, I find a flicker of hope, a chance to rewrite my destiny.

In cold hard terms, Cleopatra is just a clone, replicated from the DNA of her long lost Mummy by a group of Swiss, German and Italian scientists, who were searching for the holy grail of feminine intellect and political strategy, driven by the unimaginable re-creation of a goddess, from the dust of her bones. But guided by the machinations of the near obsessive and virtual occultist; Baron Heinrich Richthofen.

The Nile queen was rescued from ceremonial copulation by Commander John Storm, the pair drawn inextricably together through the millennia. Guided like missiles on a collision course, with pinpoint accuracy. It was meant to be, fated, to meet again. Reborn.

Then thrust into adult life, with no preconditioning, just implanted memories, the ability to speak nine languages and mix potions. Nothing at all about the modern electronic world of fast food, canned music and visual storytelling on wide screens.

Imagine Cleopatra, once the powerful Pharaoh of ancient Egypt, now awakening in a world of smartphones, electric cars, and bustling cities. Her regal demeanor clashes with modern technology, yet her timeless allure remains.

As she steps onto the Elizabeth Swann, adorned with Cleopatra motifs and hieroglyphics, she grapples with her newfound existence. The ship, powered by the sun and hydrogen, glides gracefully along the water, a blend of ancient mystique and futuristic innovation.
Cleopatra’s mind swirls with questions: How did she arrive here? Why this vessel? And what role does fate play in her resurrection?

Her savoir, Captain Storm, a scientist and adventurer, welcomes Cleopatra aboard. His eyes widen each time he gazes at the enigmatic queen. He knows her story - how she ruled Egypt, seduced emperors, and navigated treacherous politics. But this? This is beyond his wildest hypotheses.

Together, they explore the ship’s solar panels, hydrogen fuel cells, and advanced navigation systems. Cleopatra, once a master of strategy, now learns about sustainable energy and climate awareness.

Storm explains that the Elizabeth Swann isn’t just a vessel; it’s a symbol - a bridge between epochs. Cleopatra’s presence, he believes, can inspire change, urging humanity toward cleaner, circular economies.

CONFLICTING EMOTIONS

Cleopatra grapples with her dual identity: ancient queen and modern crew member. She misses the Nile’s warm currents, the scent of lotus blossoms, and the weight of her crown. Yet, she’s fascinated by the ship’s technology.

Storm, too, battles conflicting emotions. He’s enamored by Cleopatra’s elegance, her wisdom, and the way she adapts to touchscreen controls, as though born to it. But he wonders if their shared mission - to protect the oceans - can bridge their temporal gap.

As the Elizabeth Swann sails toward uncharted waters, Cleopatra’s heart quickens. She recalls her past conquests, her love affairs, and her fierce determination. Now, she faces a different conquest: saving the planet. Storm, fueled by scientific curiosity, studies ancient artifacts Cleopatra carries - a scarab pendant, a papyrus scroll. Could they hold clues to sustainable practices? Perhaps Cleopatra’s wisdom transcends time.

The 21st century offers no pharaohs or empires, only a vast ocean and a mission to protect it. Will that content her, satisfy her?

Initially on a steep learning curve, Cleopatra adapts to touchscreen controls, solar panels, and hydrogen fuel cells. Her curiosity drives her to understand the ship’s sustainable energy systems. She grapples with the paradox of ancient wisdom meeting cutting-edge science.

Captain John Storm, intrigued by Cleopatra, balances awe with scientific curiosity. Their interactions oscillate between admiration and cultural gaps. Cleopatra’s charisma draws people, but her past - filled with power struggles and seductions - creates tension.

A MODERN LIFESTYLE

Even so, Cleopatra, once the ruler of ancient Egypt, grapples with the crew’s 21st-century lifestyle aboard the Elizabeth Swann. She reacts a study of curiosity and confusion. Cleopatra observes crew members tapping on screens, their eyes glued to devices. She’s fascinated by the technology but bewildered by its purpose. At first, ever the quick study. The crew’s casual attire - jeans, sneakers, and hoodies - contrasts sharply with her royal robes. She admires John's black Navy Seal outfit, when he wrestles his muscular torso into it. A feast for her eyes.

She yearns for the Nile’s fertile banks, a nostalgic longing, the scent of incense in her palace, and the grandeur of her court. The ship’s steel and glass feel sterile in comparison. Though her cabin is awash with leopard prints, gold and jewels. Cleopatra misses the intrigue of her court, where whispers held power and alliances shifted like desert sands.

Cleopatra studies the ship’s solar panels, adapting and learning of hydrogen fuel cells, and electric thrusters. Storm explains their eco-friendly purpose, and she nods, absorbing new knowledge. She practices using touchscreen controls, her graceful fingers adjusting to this alien interface. Liking it.

Cleopatra’s regal bearing confounds the crew. They’re egalitarian, democratic - a far cry from her autocratic rule. A cultural clash, that should not exist in a mere clone. Storm introduces her to pizza, coffee, and rock music. She smiles politely, wondering how these fit into her destiny.

Cleopatra’s heart swells when she sees dolphins leaping alongside the ship. She understands her mission now: to protect the oceans, even in this unfamiliar era. Her environmental passion is aroused. Storm, impressed by her resolve, shares climate change data. Cleopatra nods solemnly, her ancient soul aligned with this modern cause.

In this fusion of epochs, Cleopatra’s reactions blend awe, nostalgia, and determination - a queen reborn, navigating a world where pyramids yield to wind turbines. 


THE SCARAB BEETLE

The scarab pendant, an ancient Egyptian symbol of rebirth and protection, plays a pivotal role in Cleopatra’s journey aboard the Elizabeth Swann. The crew none the wiser.

Cleopatra wears the scarab pendant - a small, intricately carved beetle - close to her heart. It reminds her of her past life, her struggles, and her resilience. The scarab represents transformation, echoing her own rebirth in this unfamiliar era. Recovered by John, and returned to its rightful owner.

Storm notices the pendant’s unique design - a blend of ancient craftsmanship and modern materials. He believes it holds hidden knowledge. Cleopatra, guided by intuition, touches the scarab during storms or uncertain moments. Somehow, it steers the ship away from danger, as if channeling ancient wisdom. Even Hal is in awe.

Storm theorizes that the scarab pendant resonates with the ship’s eco-friendly systems. Perhaps it amplifies their energy efficiency, making the Elizabeth Swann sail smoother. It is eco-magic, if there is such as thing. Cleopatra doesn’t fully understand this connection, but she trusts the scarab’s magic - the same magic that once protected her dynasty.

As Cleopatra gazes at the scarab, she feels a responsibility beyond her own existence. She’s a bridge between epochs, and the pendant symbolizes continuity. Storm, too, sees hope in this ancient artifact. Maybe Cleopatra’s legacy isn’t just historical - it’s ecological.

In this fusion of legacy past and present, the scarab pendant whispers secrets, urging Cleopatra to protect the oceans and sail toward a greener future. 

REVELATIONS OF HER TOMB

Cleopatra, Egypt’s last pharaoh, left behind a fascinating legacy, although the artifacts directly carried by her are minimalist. The discovery of her tomb revealed more about her than just the trinkets and decorations spoke of.

Coins minted during her reign feature her profile, providing glimpses of her appearance. These coins have also been found at the site of Taposiris Magna in Egypt. A well-known depiction of Cleopatra is a relief at the Dendera temple, where she appears alongside her son, Caesarion. Given new meaning, as the artists model walked the sand once more.

Various statues and busts, scattered across museums worldwide, depicting Cleopatra VII beckoned. These artworks offer interpretations of her regal features that belie her beauty in the flesh. Roman artists and sculptors captured her image, but their intent was not necessarily to create accurate portraits.

Cleopatra’s tomb, contained rich artifacts, including jewelry, statues, and funerary masks. These items revealed the artistic styles and craftsmanship of her time. Very much aligned with the boy King Tutankhamun.

Inscriptions and hieroglyphs within the tomb might yet shed light on her religious beliefs and connection to Egyptian gods and goddesses, given time for translation.

While Cleopatra’s physical appearance remained a mystery for so long, her influence endures through these artifacts, connecting her to an ancient world of power, intrigue, and enigma.
