We are in agreement as to phased disarmament by all nations simultaneously. That of course depends on reciprocal intention from potential enemies. NATO cannot be left vulnerable, and ripe for a communist or religious takeover. One way of countering nuclear war is to build networks of fallout bunkers, fully stocked, with early warning systems in place.
The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament is one tremendous effort against all odds, to persuade world leaders to disarm. And we are all for it. The problem is that some nations, generally super powers, keep on making nuclear weapons. Which, when coupled with other intelligence, has only one meaning: the CRINKs are up to no good. Why would China, Russia, Iran and North Korea continued to spend much of their GDP on weapons of mass destruction, bunkers, and the purchase of gold bullion, if they are not planning to attack less well prepared nations. Of which, the United Kingdom is one.
It is worse than that. These communist and religious extremists are working together against the western capitalism and democracy. That may not be perfect, and that is what we should perhaps be looking to remedy. We should set a shining example of justice, circularity and sustainable practices. But we don't. We continue to allow elected politicians into office based on lies and ongoing deceptions. With personal gain as the core evil.
Nuclear weapons and the manufacture and sales of arms to other nations, could only lead to one thing. And now many nations have the technology to manufacture their own weapons. Thus, the free world has taught the war lords how to arm themselves, to such an extent that North Korea and Iran is manufacturing weapons for their ally Mother Russia. If ever there was a twisted regime it is Vladimir Putin's. Putin of course working with China's Xi Jinping to spread communism using cheap exports of solar panels, lithium batteries and electric cars, to snake charm the West into a false sense of security, all the while the free world is giving them cash to build more nuclear weapons and warships, to dominate Taiwan, for example.
China is subsidizing the manufacture of key technology, plastics, and even fashion goods, to gain £pound and $dollars - all of which weakens the economy of their targets: America, Europe and all other NATO countries.
China is also using the revenues from their sales of cheap goods to provide loans to other nations, and to invest in their utilities. How on earth the (not so) free world allowed that to happen is incredible. It is stupidity personified, and typical of the weakness of British and European politicians. Who, it appears, are dancing with the devil. Waltzing all the way into the abyss. But all the money in the world is no good to our leaders if they are dead.
The free world does not need nuclear weapons to defend borders of sovereign waters. They need to develop autonomous robotic solutions, so that invasion and survival of submarines and warships is more daunting than launching a nuclear holocaust. This should be a priority of NATO, instead of challenging like for like. Autonomous infantry and surface vessels, is not only cheaper. But does away with the terrible consequences of continuing to flood planet earth with radioactive waste - we can never get rid of.
The problem is that the CRINKs will never agree to phase out nuclear weapons. They will pretend they like the idea, to get NATO members to start the process, and halt defensive countermeasures. But in reality, they will carry on. Leaving our allies with little choice but to repel like for like.
ABOUT CND
According to their website, the government is replacing its current nuclear weapons system, Trident, at a cost of at least £205 billion. This money should be spent on homes, education and health; improving people's lives without threatening the lives of others. CND campaigns for Britain to get rid of Trident and join the global majority of countries, who don't have and don't want nuclear weapons.
We agree with the need for low cost housing, but we do not need to spend defence money on that. We just need to stop corruption on local councils, and force them to only grant planning permission for affordable units. Until we are no longer on a war footing. At the moment British councils are overspending and many declaring insolvency. Because, successive Labour and Conservative governments have allowed that to happen. It is not a mistake, it has been a deliberate policy to sell off everything and turn our British workers into slaves as a renting society of the rich taking advantage of the poor. This was policy was begun by Margaret Thatcher's great British Garage Sale. It included selling off all UK assets, to underpin policies that could not work. In essence, poor management and election promises not fulfilled.
As to health, we might invest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to dispense with many of the routine functions of doctors and levels of administration, layers of manager that is drowning the NHS. All designed to slow treatments, kill off the old early by denying them treatments, and pumping carcinogens and carcinogenic particulates into the air, because of investments in fossil fuel companies (especially by councils), when they should have been investing in renewables.
CND'S AIMS & OBJECTIVES
CND campaigns non-violently to rid the world of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction and to create genuine security for future generations.
1) Elimination of British nuclear weapons and global abolition of nuclear weapons:
- An all encompassing Fissile Material cut-Off Treaty is agreed.
- Implementation of an arms conversion policy by the British government.
- Immediate negotiations leading swiftly to the rapid, timetabled abolition of nuclear forces worldwide and the conclusion of a global nuclear ban treaty.

Prevention and cessation of wars in which the nuclear weapons of Britain or other countries might be used and strengthening the UN role in peaceful conflict resolution.
- A strengthened Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).
- Global abandonment of space weapons and missile defence programmes. An international agreement on the Prevention of an Arms Race in Outer Space.

Implementation of a ban on the manufacture, testing and use of Depleted Uranium weapons.
- Withdrawal of all US military bases and nuclear weapons from Europe and no nuclear or other expansion of NATO.
- Formal Nuclear Weapon-Free Zones in Europe established.

Britain withdrawn from NATO and all foreign military bases on British soil closed.
- Establishment of safe policies on nuclear waste storage and on re-use of contaminated land.
- Stopping the re-use, trade in and transport of plutonium and depleted uranium.

Independent control and verification of plutonium, uranium and depleted uranium stocks.
